DAY 42: Last Day in Europe
I arrived back in the states from a 14 hour flight from Rome to Oslo and then Orlando, FL. My sister, her fiancé and my pup, Leeloo, were awaiting my arrival outside baggage claim. It was good to see them. Good to be home. Leeloo couldn’t stop jumping and crying and licking my face for a good five-minutes. We were ecstatic to be back together. I missed her energy. She’s lying here by my leg, sleeping. She’s dreaming right now. Her body’s twitching. Wimpering too. I missed hom

DAY 41: A Day in Pompeii
This time I was up early. Snoozed the alarm far too many times but I was up eventually. Out the door and on my feet by 8:30a. Took the train back into Roma Termini and purchased a ticket to Naples. Only an hour and fifteen minute train ride this time. Easy. Sat myself in business class for a short time; Booted to standard where I should’ve been to begin with. The perks of being a lost tourist. Between taking the train from Roma Termini into Naples and then another train from

DAY 40: Fifth Day in Rome
Naples. That was the goal today. I’ve been planning on walking the Pompeii ruins 35 minutes outside the city since I conceived this trip. Packed everything: camera, phone, chargers for phone and internet mobile device… Hauled ass to the train station and arrived at Roma Termini at 11:30a. Next train to Naples Central was in 15 minutes; I wouldn’t arrive there for another 2 hours. Rummaged through my bag searching for the mobile internet device so I could confirm the routes I

DAY 39: Fourth Day in Rome
Slacked off. The heat and humidity were factors in my decision making. Still wasn’t sleeping much. Remained cautious of overexerting myself in this scorching weather, especially if I wasn’t getting proper rest. Too restless to entirely squander the day though. Napped later in the afternoon and left “home” by nightfall. I stopped off near the Vatican. Met a cute short-haired blonde girl. Black-rimmed reading glasses. We met outside the Castel St. Angelo, which was a stoned cas

DAY 38: Third Day in Rome
Back on my feet. Felt good. Prepared to spend the day roaming… Rome. Upon exiting the apartment, however, I questioned if my endurance was sufficient enough to last the day. It. Was. Hot. Miserably hot. Think the heat was getting to some of the locals and tourists too. When I boarded the train toward Rome Metropolitan there was a man asking people on the train for change. Hard to tell if he was intoxicated but I believe that was the case. He asked an old Italian woman in a bl

DAY 37: Second Day in Rome
Took it easy today. The headaches hadn’t fully subsided yet. I needed to allow myself proper time to settle. Get accustomed to the heat wave. I didn’t leave the apartment until about 5PM. I didn’t want the day to go entirely to waste. My objectives this trip: familiarize myself with the public transportation, retrieve meds for any future headaches and buy a map. My stop was at the end of the line so I had the luxury of obtaining a seat before the party arrived. By the time ou

DAY 36: Last Day in Prague/First Day in Rome
Travel day. Took the tram into Prague station. Followed by a bus to the 2nd terminal at Prague airport. Clean and devoid of large crowds. I wish LAX was like this. Arrived to early. Can’t show up earlier than 2 hours prior to a flight for any European airline it seems. Didn’t mind the wait though. There was a model of the airport constructed out of legos, which was a blast to photograph. They had control panels on the outside for children to press buttons that’d make the flig

DAY 35: Sixth Day in Prague
Laundry day. With emphasis on the word “day”. Started the load at 4AM; The clothes were 90% dry by 11AM the day I had to leave. I was grounded at the apartment by necessity. The extent of my wardrobe consisted of board shorts and a damp hoodie. The trip to the mini-mart was a cold one. Attempted to make the most of it. Took a hot bath and put on Netflix. I was perfectly relaxed until a giant fucking beetle flew into my line of sight during the movie. The next 10 minutes of th

DAY 34: Fifth Day in Prague
I'd intended to spend the day shooting a video of Prague. A 4K compilation of shots showing the city’s architecture and city life. But I couldn’t do it. It wasn’t fun. I found myself disinterested with putting forth the energy I’d found here into static wides of landscapes and architecture instead of absorbing it further. I wandered Prague Castle again as I promised myself I would. Stepped inside the cathedral, which was overwhelmed with tourists. Practically shoulder-to-shou

DAY 33: Fourth Day in Prague
Wandered. Took the tram to a different area than usual. There was a cathedral nearby but that wasn’t why I came here. In the courtyard amongst elderly and young couples on benches were these 27” X 40” poster-size displays of photography. Each piece was lined perfectly center with the cathedral entrance. The work was inspiring. Gave unique, experimental perspectives on the city of Prague. Some provided exaggerated wides of architecture while others focused on the people. My f
